Run With the Wolves Registration Now Open!

Run With the Wolves is a 5k/1k Run/Walk and will be held Sunday, September 21, 2014.  This “Fun”draiser is a long-standing tradition at WWE.  This event raises between $10,000 – $12,000 each year.  100% of these proceeds are granted to WWE to help fund needs at the school.

Expanded to two days! A-L on September 11th & M-Z on September 12th

WWE has grown quite a bit since we began Doughnuts with Dad a handful of years ago. In response, we’re expanding this popular event to two days. Families with last names beginning A-L are encouraged to join us on Thursday, September 11th and families with last names beginning M-Z are encouraged to join us on Friday, September 12th. If you cannot attend on your day, please feel free to attend the other day. Both mornings will begin at 7:45am. More information about Doughnuts with Dad can be found here.

2014-2015 Photo Student & Family Directory

2014-2015 is a Photo Directory year!

If you are new to WWE since the fall of 2012, then you may not be familiar with our biannual Photo Directory produced by Randall’s Photography. But if you are a seasoned WWE family, then you know how fantastic this directory is!

In addition to the student listing, class lists, family contact information, and school contact information, this special directory edition features photos of WWE families photographed at Randall’s in a FREE session. If you are new to WWE, you can view a copy of the 2012 photo directory at Randall’s Photography (7400 Indiana Street).

All photography is done on-site at Randall’s Photography Studio. Portraits will be photographed outside. They will do a short session with each family. Pets are welcome. Posing is limited to one family pose and one of the kids, for each family. A separate portrait session can be scheduled if you have special requests for a particular background or poses. (Call Randall’s studio for session prices.)

After the session, the images will be posted online the day you are photographed. Each family will choose the photo they would like to be printed in the directory and that will be done at no cost to WWE families. In addition, families have the wonderful opportunity to order prints and digital images at a reduced price in. This is an excellent chance to order discounted high-end wall portraits of your family, gifts, and JPEG images for printing Christmas cards.

WWE families who wish to participate in this great program should call Randall’s Photography directly at 303-425-6077 to schedule a session. Call today! The best times will be taken soon. Photo session dates are:

Saturday, August 23rd from 8 a.m. to noon

Sunday, August 24th from 8 a.m. to noon

Monday, August 25th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m

Tuesday, August 26th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m

Important information from WWE regarding 2014-2015 Registration & Fees for New & Returning Students

The following is taken from the WWE school website.

WEST WOODS ELEMENTARY REGISTRATION FOR 2014-2015

RETURNING STUDENTS:

Beginning on Monday, July 28th, school fee payments for your student can be made online, with no convenience fee, through JeffcoConnect. You may make payments for the 2014-15 school year with your debit or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover are accepted).  Although we encourage you to pay school fees online, you can still pay at the school between July 22nd and the start of school on Aug. 18th.

JeffcoConnect is the registration program for all Jefferson County Schools. Every family is required to have an active JeffcoConnect Account.  Each year, every family MUST log into JeffcoConnect, review all of the information (especially phone and email contacts), make necessary changes, and the hit the “SUBMIT” button.  This provides the annual electronic signature required by the state of Colorado.  Please list at least two emergency contacts.

NEW STUDENTS:

Students completely new to Jefferson County can register on-line but will need to bring a birth certificate, immunization record and proof of residency (utility bill, mortgage statement, lease agreement, purchase contract) to the office.  If you do not have access to a computer, they will be available in the office beginning July 29, 2014. You are also required to make a JeffcoConnect account.  The link is at the bottom of this webpage.  If you have any problems please call the office at 303-982-5649 for assistance.

EduKit Pick up

EduKit Pick Up • Wednesday, 8/13

9-11 am & 6-7 pm

2nd grade hallway, east door facing parking lot

Families were given the opportunity to order pre-packaged school supply kits last Spring.  If you placed an order, these kits will be available for pick up on Wednesday 8/13 from 9-11am and from 6-7pm.  Please go to the east facing entrance on the Primary side of the building.  This is the entrance to the 2nd grade hallway.  If you cannot pick up your kit during this time, they will be held in the office and you may pick them up from there beginning Thursday 8/14.  Can’t remember if you ordered a kit?  Contact Katie Meeks at kbmeeks75@gmail.com.  Looking for the school supply list for 2014-2015?  Click here.

The Pack is Back!

Don’t forget… The Pack is Back! on Thursday, August 14th at 5pm!

Enjoy dinner and dessert from one of 7 delicious food trucks!  See below for links to their sample menus.

We invite all new and returning families to join us for a Back to School Picnic on August 14th from 5:00-7:30pm.  Seven amazing food trucks – 5 savory and 2 dessert – will be available for your dinner enjoyment.  Bring your blankets, chairs, and dinner money and join us on the lawn in front of the school.  Music will be provided by DJ Brian as well!

This event is coordinated with Supply Drop-off & Meet the Teacher for all K-6 new and returning students that will be held in classrooms from 4:30-6:00pm.  Kindergarten Parent Orientation will also be held this evening in classrooms from 4-5pm.
