What is PTSA?

The PTSA (Parent-Teacher-Student-Association) is a private, non-profit organization of parents, teachers, students, and community members who strive to better the lives of children. We are part of an association that is organized at the local, state, and national levels. By joining your local PTSA, you are automatically a member of Jeffco PTA, Colorado PTA and National PTA. The PTSA is the largest child advocacy volunteer organization which  peaks for the interest of all children and their safety, health, welfare, and education.

Why Join PTSA?

When you join the West Woods Elementary PTSA, you join a community that encourages student achievement and enriches the learning environment. We believe in building partnerships between our families and our schools. Together we can make a difference.  Additionally, your membership dues help to fund our work at WWE.

How Does PTSA Support Our School?

Your West Woods Elementary PTSA supports all children in our school. We reinforce and strengthen classroom studies by providing teachers with money for field trips and classroom materials. We coordinate volunteers as the school and staff request. We sponsor a variety of events, programs and projects including, but not limited to:

What Does Your PTSA Membership Cost?

$10.00 per parent or community member and $6.25 per student.  Membership is effective September to September. JOIN NOW!

What Do I Get With My Membership? What is required of me if I join?

Your membership ensures your vote in PTSA-related activities. We encourage your attendance at three general meetings per year, but attendance is not required. Meetings are held monthly.  THe time and dates for 2014-2015 will be determined soon.  We love our volunteers and encourage you to find an area of WWE PTSA’s work that interests you.  We hope for your meaningful involvement with our work, but you are not required to do anything if you join PTSA.

Your PTSA provides a venue for you to contribute to your student’s success. You also have access to the CO State PTA and National PTA websites www.copta.org and www.pta.org. These sites contain parenting education, advocacy information and on-line learning tools.
